Where do face-to-face sessions take place?

I am only able to provide Speech and Language Therapy sessions in families homes. I am not currently offering sessions for schools/at school or other establishments

What ages do you work with?

I work with Early Years and Primary Aged children meaning ages 1-11 years old.

What days/times do you work?

I am currently working full-time (Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00) in the NHS.  I am currently offering sessions after my NHS working hours (start times will differ depending on location) and weekends at times agreed between myself and the families requesting my services. Have a look at my google business page for more information on timings.

How much do you charge?

A telephone consultation to talk through the services I provide is FREE. This will typically last for 30 minutes maximum where we can chat about whether or not I am able to support your child. For a FREE consultation please email me on katemills.slt@gmail.com OR call me on 07726323395 to discuss whether I can support your child. (Please include; parent carer's name, your child's age/DoB, child's area/s of need/concern)

Within this call, we can discuss pricing. Please be aware that Independent speech and language therapists charge for; Initial assessment session, therapy sessions, phone calls to parents/carers or even school staff to discuss the therapy plan, report writing (cost of this will depend on the length of the report needed).

What is Teletherapy?

Teletherapy means sessions delivered through technology such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Can anyone in any location request teletherapy?

Teletherapy is a great way to get around the commute however it takes a lot more planning for the SLT than the typical session as specific resources have to be created for each session. However it is not suitable for all children (see FAQ: Is Teletherapy appropriate for my child?).

This means that in any location you can technically access teletherapy however it will need to be decided with the SLT whether this is appropriate for each child in question.

Please note:

  • Depending on need, it may still be required to have a face-to-face initial assessment appointment unless otherwise discussed with the SLT.

  • I cannot provide therapy to those with a Wandsworth GP or those that live in the Borough of Wandsworth due to my NHS role

Is Teletherapy appropriate for my child?

Teletherapy may NOT be appropriate for:

·       children with attention and listening difficulties

·       children with complex Speech Sound Disorders

·       children who have sensory processing difficulties or disorders

·       children with hearing loss

However, I am happy to discuss this further in relation to your child during the FREE phone consultation.

Please note:

  • Depending on need, it may still be required to have a face-to-face initial assessment appointment unless otherwise discussed with the SLT.

  • I cannot provide therapy to those with a Wandsworth GP or those that live in the Borough of Wandsworth due to my NHS role
